Experience

With more than twenty years of experience in the legal community as both a paralegal, attorney, and Judge, Trinity has had the opportunity to apply her unique experiences to positively impact the lives of others while still holding individuals accountable. Through those experiences, she learned that justice is not a one-size-fits-all model.

After being elected to Franklin County District Court, Trinity has proudly served as District Court Judge for the past three and a half years. During that time, she has created a thriving Therapeutic Court program that continues to grow and is currently working to establish a Veteran’s Court track to better serve those who have served our country.

Under her leadership, more than $1,000,000 in grant and state funding has been brought back to Franklin County to support programs and services benefiting the community. She has forged strong partnerships throughout the community, expanded the work crew program to provide a full-time alternative to incarceration while helping clean up Franklin County, and worked to reduce incarceration costs through meaningful accountability programs.

Trinity also serves on the District and Municipal Court Judges’ Association Education Committee and Therapeutic Court Committee. She has presented at local schools to
foster positive relationships between the courts and the community while encouraging children to pursue service to others. In addition, she attended Legislative Day on behalf
of Franklin County and the Legislative Committee, where she had the opportunity to speak directly with local lawmakers about the needs of the community and the importance of continued support for local courts and public safety programs.

Service

Community service has been a lifelong commitment for Trinity. Prior to her election to Franklin County District Court, she served as an attorney rater for the YMCA Youth and Government moot court program, volunteered as a volleyball coach at Liberty Christian School, and provided pro bono legal assistance through Grace Kitchen and the Benton Franklin Legal Aid Advice Clinic. She also volunteered in center support at Second Harvest and served on the Board of Directors for Elijah Family Homes.

Since taking the bench, Trinity has continued serving the community in new ways. She regularly attends and supports events hosted by organizations including Mirror Ministries, Grace Collective, Columbia Basin Veterans Center, and Columbia Valley Center for Recovery. She is also organizing educational opportunities for local law enforcement and educators focused on recognizing emerging drug trends and improving responses to substance use disorders affecting both youth and adults.

Working alongside the Franklin County Therapeutic Court team, Trinity also helped secure grant funding to provide motivational interviewing training for law enforcement liaisons, corrections staff, and court personnel, strengthening the community’s ability to support accountability, recovery, and long-term success.

Family

Trinity and her husband, Chris, have been married for nearly fifteen years and are proud to continue raising their family in Franklin County. They have called the Tri-Cities home for more than thirty years. Although Trinity briefly left the area to attend Gonzaga University School of Law, she returned home after earning her law degree to build both her career and family in the community she loves.

Her son was recently married and now teaches band at a local elementary school. Her daughter is pursuing her doctorate in Occupational Therapy, and their youngest child is a sixth grader who enjoys basketball and video games.

About Trinity

Discovering My Love for the Law

While I was enrolled as a paralegal student at Columbia Basin College, I found a unique passion and love for the law. While working towards my degree, I was employed at a local law firm where I worked in several areas of the law. This included criminal defense, bankruptcy, personal injury, and Labor and Industries. After a few years working as a paralegal, I realized I wanted to be more than support for the attorney. I wanted to also be a voice for the people.

With support from my family, friends, and employers, I took the leap to become an attorney. I completed my degrees at CBC and Washington State University – Tri-Cities and applied for law school at my one and only choice, Gonzaga Law School. After law school, I returned to the Tri-Cities with my two children to study for the bar and find employment. Fortunately, I was hired as a legal intern at Fluor Hanford and worked while studying and awaiting bar results. Upon passing the Washington State Bar Exam, I was offered a position as a public defender with a local law firm.

Vision

Supporting Our Community

One of Trinity’s campaign promises and top priorities was bringing a Therapeutic Court
program to Franklin County. That vision became a reality during her first year on the
bench at Franklin County District Court. The program has grown beyond expectations and now receives referrals from both District and Superior Court, demonstrating the need for treatment-focused accountability programs within the community.

Building on that success, Trinity is now focused on developing a Veteran’s Court track to better serve those who have served our country. The program is designed to provide
veterans with both accountability and meaningful support as they work to regain stability and independence in their lives.

Trinity continues to identify and address the evolving needs of Franklin County. She has
secured grant funding to improve courthouse security, helping protect court staff, law
enforcement, attorneys, and members of the public who enter the courthouse each day.

Looking ahead, Trinity is working toward creating a program that assists individuals in
regaining their suspended driver’s licenses. The goal is not only to help defendants
regain lawful driving privileges, but also to improve community safety by ensuring more drivers on the road are properly licensed and insured. The program would also help address growing public defense costs in Franklin County and throughout Washington by reducing repeated criminal filings tied to license suspensions.

Values

Family

A common theme in Trinity’s household is to encourage her children to be kind, caring, positive and gracious in their service to others. Her oldest son graduated EWU with his degree in music education and is now an elementary music teacher. He also assists with marching band and other music programs. Trinity’s daughter is highly motivated earning her undergraduate degrees in record time. She is now working towards her doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Her youngest attends a private Christian school and is in 6 th grade. He is a spit fire with quick wit and a strong desire to help others.

With a full-time career and family, life is always busy but exciting. In her free time Trinity and her family enjoy travel, camping, fishing, and SCUBA.
